1. 39-year-old Jennifer O’Neil, the Managing Director of US-based global investment management corporation BlackRock, has played a noteworthy role in helping to seal the debt restructuring of Argentina and Ecuador. Her exceptional work has secured her name in headlines, describing her as “prominent” in the “world of sovereign bond trading, dominated by men”.

2. Kelly Quirk, the former CEO and co-owner of Perth-based Harrier Human Capital is pursuing legal action against the company on the grounds of being overworked and bullied by the company’s chairman. The contentious case is a “rare instance of a CEO challenging their excessive hours”, according to the AFR, with Ms Quirk previously commenting on the “cost of making it to the C-suite”, a term used to describe senior executive positions or corporate titles.

3. Chief Economist of realestate.com.au, Nerida Conisbee, has said Queensland is proving popular as more people look to escape lockdown restrictions. New data from realestate.com.au in August, found there was a 145% year-on-year increase in search activity from Victorians, looking to buy in hot spots like the Whitsundays, Townsville, Cairns and Port Douglas.

4. ANZ Bank’s ESG Report exposed the bank was “off track” of its aim to increase women in leadership by 2020. The bank aimed to have 34.1% of women make up its leadership team by 2020, but fell short with the actual figure being finalised at 33.1%.

5. The Bank of Canada has revealed a new report that found those with lower levels of financial literacy or understanding would be more likely to own crypto assets.
