1. London’s National Gallery has reopened post-COVID with the first major exhibition solely dedicated to a female artist, in the gallery’s 196 year history. Heralded as the ‘Beyonce’ of renaissance art, Artemisia Gentileschi, was an exceptional 17th Century Italian painter who was never been properly acknowledge in her time period due to her gender.

2.Australian singer and activist, Helen Reddy, has passed away at age 78. Helen Reddy is most clearly remembered for her anthem, ‘I Am Woman.’

3. Women’s specialist legal services are seeking an extra $25 million & an additional 120 lawyers, social workers and financial counsellors to contribute to the relief effort against increasing domestic violence since COVID. “The worst is yet to come,” said Women’s Legal Services Victoria Chief Executive Joanna Fletcher.

4. Start-up ‘Super Rewards’ is close to signing agreements with superannuation funds that allow consumers to top up their super balances by rounding-up transactions like paying for groceries, energy bills and general purchases. The company is lead by CEO Pascale Helyar-Moray.

5.Former Cricket Australia women’s captain and Executive General Manager of community cricket, Belinda Clark, has announced that she will step down from her role in November. Belinda Clark has been a champion of women’s cricket and ensuring the next generation of female cricketers were paid adequately and received recognition.
