1. Harvey Norman chief executive Katie Page and iron ore magnate Alexandra Burt have been newly appointed to Tourism Australia’s board, to help with the recovery of the sector post-COVID.

2. Amy Coney Barrett has been confirmed as the new US Supreme Court Justice, cementing a conservative majority in the court of 6:3.

3. The weekly ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence rate has risen by 1.6% to an 8-month high of 99.7. The data suggests that the return to work, lifting of further restrictions and stimulus packages have helped the population feel more positive about reaching economic stability.

4. The recent IPO of Adore Beauty (ABY) is down 15 per cent since last Friday’s IPO. On Tuesday afternoon, the stocks were trading at $5.72.

5. Both the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 moved lower on Tuesday, with falls of 0.80% to 27,463.19 and 0.30% to 3,390.68, respectively. Rising tech stocks including Zoom and Shopify helped push the Nasdaq 0.64% higher to 11,431.35 points.
