Rugby Australia is set to improve diversity on its board with the expected appointment of Dr Jane Wilson and Karen Penrose. The increased female representation is long awaited as currently only one of the Australian Rugby League Commission’s directors are female, yet Cricket Australia has three women on their board.

‘Her Flame Burns Bright’ aims to increase female basketball participation and retention
Aiming to increase female participation and retention in regional NSW, female basketballers can train with and learn from Australia’s best at the Brydens Sydney Flames’ ‘Her Flame Burns Bright’ basketball clinic in Bathurst. The program, supported by the NSW Government, will be delivered in 10 locations over the next three years to more than 2,000 female basketballers and coaches.

Fathers in Utah now legally obliged to pay half the cost of a mother’s medical care
Utah’s Shared Medical Costs law now requires biological fathers to pay half the birth mother’s insurance fees and her monthly health insurance costs both during pregnancy and at birth. Giving birth can cost insured US women roughly $4,500 USD, therefore the law aims to help alleviate the financial burden of motherhood for Americans.
