We all know far too well the financial impact social events have, especially when it comes to cocktails with the girls that average at least $20 minimum per drink. Whilst it is important to save for necessary bills and your future, often we will give in to financial FOMO and blow our hard-earned savings in one after-work Friday drinks session.

Thankfully, it’s possible to have your lychee martini and drink it too with our money-saving suggestions below. It may surprise you that some of the cheapest and easiest to make drinks are among some of the most frequently ordered at the bar. Try your hand at cocktails on a budget by rounding up your friends and making the drinks yourselves!

Margarita

Ingredients:

  • Lime to rim the glass
  • Salt or Sugar to rim the glass
  • 45ml tequila
  • 30ml Cointreau
  • 5 tablespoons of lime juice (fresh)

Piña Colada

Ingredients:

  • 50ml of white rum
  • 25ml of coconut cream
  • 25ml of single cream
  • 200ml of pineapple juice.

Mojito

Ingredients

  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Handful of mint leaves
  • 60ml white rum
  • Soda water (to taste)

Long Island Iced Tea

Ingredients

  • 25ml of light rum
  • 25ml of vodka
  • 25ml of gin
  • 25ml of tequila
  • 25ml of lime juice
  • Coke (to taste)

Espresso Martini

Ingredients

  • 40ml Vodka
  • 20ml Kahlua
  • 20ml espresso coffee (cooled)
  • 3 coffee beans (to garnish)

Aperol Spritz

Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 100ml Aperol
  • 150ml prosecco
  • Soda water (to taste)

White Sangria

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles of white wine
  • 300ml ginger wine
  • 80ml elderflower cordial
  • 4 thinly sliced limes
  • 3 sliced peaches
  • Handful of raspberries
  • Ice
  • 1L sparkling water
