1. Ana Fontes, a Brazilian social entrepreneur, has mobilised the ‘Women Entrepreneurs Social Network’ (RME, in Portuguese) in order to help female entrepreneurs navigate the digital landscape and establish their own businesses. RME has raised more than US $7.3 million to undertake key training programmes for 50,000 women in the next 24 months.

2. Greek politician Anna Diamontopoulou is making a bid for the Secretary-General role of the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Anna says she “uniquely understands how the international organization can support member states in the post-COVID world.”

3. New research from the University of Sydney, University of NSW and Curtin University has found that single women without children still experience involuntary careers interruptions and do not end up with more savings. Women over the age of 45, without children, are more likely to have extra caring responsibilities for ageing family members and do not share their financial costs with a partner.

4. Griselda Pollock, an Australian art historian, has won the Holberg Prize for her work in uncovering why women have been written out of art history.

5. The UK’s Labour party has said 8.5 million women will go their entire careers without receiving equal pay.
