Episode 21:

Our guest today is Jane McNally, CEO of luxury fashion label Camilla.

Using collaborative leadership and over 30 years’ international retail experience, including 18 years as a Board member, and 11 years as Chief Executive in the retail sector, Jane has worked at leading national and international brands including Camilla, Marcs, Millers, and the global value retail phenomenon, Primark.

Jane was nominated for Turnaround Business of the Year by Barclays after turning a £25m underlying loss into a £2.5m operating profit within three years at Irisa Ltd (formerly Alexon plc). She has accelerated international channel growth including physical US stores and multi-national websites at CAMILLA, drove a ‘turnaround’ buying strategy for Peacocks, quadrupling profits and lifting share price, and helped grow revenue from £300m to £1billion at Primark through injecting fashion credentials into the women’s offer and driving a more direct sourcing strategy.

In her not- for-profit roles, Jane sits on Council or the Australian Retail Association which is currently helping to steer national retail through challenging times.

In this conversation with Maureen, Jane talks about the success of Camilla, her career journey and her views on how we will reach pay parity and equality between genders in leadership roles.
