1. The Forbes 30 under 30 list unveiled this week that females represent 40% of the finalists showing progress within the up-and-coming generation of entrepreneurs, athletes and scientists.

2. A study published in the Journal of Sports Economics found that the gender gap in horse racing has no scientific basis – as female jockeys have the same probability of finishing a stakes race “in the money.”

3. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has officially declared a ‘climate emergency’ within the country, saying it was  “an acknowledgment of the next generation.”

4. Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman has submitted a proposal requiring the boards of listed companies to have at least one female director. Friedman said the goal would be to provide a “transparent framework for a Nasdaq-listed company to present its board composition and diversity philosophy effectively to all stakeholders.” In the current moment, 3 out of 4 boards would not meet the diversity requirements proposed.

5. The US Women’s National Soccer Team has reached a settlement with the US Soccer Federation after pursuing equal pay and working conditions within the league. The Federation has conceded to improve travel, accommodation, support services, playing venues and field surfaces but the settlement failed to address equal pay claims.
