Female body armour for defenders
Female Air Force defenders from Kirtland Air Force Base were among the first to receive the brand-new issue of female body armour. After years of wearing the same tactical vest designed for a standard male body frame, the new, better-fitting armour is lighter, shorter and has a curved chest plate. Senior Airman Kiah C. Cook said “This is a historic moment. It shows us that the military is starting to appreciate females more by getting us gear that is specifically for us.”
21-year-old becomes youngest woman to row solo across the Atlantic
British woman, Jasmine Harrison, has become the youngest woman to row solo across the ocean at age 21 after a 3,000-mile journey across the Atlantic, rotating sleeping and rowing every two hours. Beginning in Spain’s Canary Islands on December 12th, Jasmine arrived in Antigua after 70 days, 3 hours and 48 minutes and raised more than $14,000 for disaster relief NGO Shelterbox.
Mastercard aims to raise visibility of black female business owners
Mastercard has launched a national American advertisement to raise visibility of black female business owners, featuring performer Jennifer Hudson and black women business owners from across the U.S. It will also include a grant program partnered with Fearless Fund, a venture capital fund built by women of colour for women of colour.

First female British jockey wins the $1 million Neom Turf Cup
Hollie Doyle has made history, becoming the first female jockey to win a race on the 2021 Saudi Cup day. The 24-year-old jockey was victorious in the first race of the day, the $1 million Neom Turf Cup, getting the race day off to a very memorable start.
