Female body armour for defenders

Female Air Force defenders from Kirtland Air Force Base were among the first to receive the brand-new issue of female body armour. After years of wearing the same tactical vest designed for a standard male body frame, the new, better-fitting armour is lighter, shorter and has a curved chest plate. Senior Airman Kiah C. Cook said “This is a historic moment. It shows us that the military is starting to appreciate females more by getting us gear that is specifically for us.”
