1. AMP is preparing to publicly release a report tied to the sexual harassment claims brought forward in 2017 by Julia Szlakowski against AMP Capital’s newly promoted chief executive Boe Pahari.

 

2. Community and union groups are calling upon the Government to acknowledge the impact of COVID-19 on low-paid workers in female industries. Refunding superannuation funds that were withdrawn from and introducing free childcare were some of the requests put forward by groups like White Ribbon, the YWCA, the Police Association of Victoria and Women’s Health Victoria.

 

3. Mark Cousins’ “Women Make Film: A New Road Movie Through Cinema” joined the Melbourne International Film Festival lineup (virtually) and can be streamed online for $20. The 14-hour documentary is a deep dive into the film composition journey of 183 female filmmakers, from six continents over 120 years of cinematic history.

 

4.The ASX 200 (the largest 200 publicly listed companies in Australia) has broken a record, with 31.3% of companies having female board members. There is just one listed company with an all-male board – Silver Lake Resources.

 

5. Chrystia Freeland has been named Canada’s first female finance minister. She is also Canada’s deputy prime minister.
